Alive, alive, oh!
My cousin Don drove me to the church this morning where my walking food tour was to start even though I had my Leap bus card loaded and ready to use.
The tour had 4 savory foods and 2 desserts but none of it was free with the price of the tour. Kevin, the tour guide, suggested we pair up and share food and Morgan, a young woman from CA and the only other one on her own besides me, approached me and so we did share but there was still way too much food. I remember a sausage roll with either pear or some kind of tomato based sauce. The second stop as I recall was fish-and-chips with cod and lots of salt and vinegar. The third savory selection was a grilled cheese sandwich but the sandwich had rock salt on it which was a little weird and then there was beef. I think the sandwich was called beefo and the name of the place sounded like gorilla but was some kind of Gaelic word and then the next word was Sambo which, of course, has a very racist connotation in the United States but Kevin had never heard of that. In Ireland it was slang for sandwiches.

And I can't remember if there was a 4th one--maybe there wasn't, I was already full, even with half portions. The first dessert was at a pastry shop and the guide recommended Bailey's cheesecake but I got hot chocolate. The second place was an ice cream shop with uniquely Irish flavors like Dingle sea salt. I got nothing. Too full!
We walked almost 10,000 steps and he set a fast pace. And it didn't rain!
Damage: one grease stain (from the fish & chips?) on my new shirt from the Vancouver Folk Music Festival!

And then we ended the tour at the Molly Malone statue with the very prominent cleavage and Kevin sang some of the chorus for us and I chimed in since I was just practicing this song ("Alive, alive, oh!" the well known part of the sad song about the fishmonger and her barrow) before I went on vacation.

Jim B here...sounds like you're having a good time, now that the phone situation is resolved. It's great seeing the pictures and reading about your adventures.
