U.K. and Carlingford
I started my day waiting at the nearest dental office but was turned down. Two others near my cousin's B&B also said they couldn't see me: one said November would be the next appointment! Finally my dentist said it could probably wait until I return so I bought a temporary filler kit at the "chemist".
On the road! We had lunch in Armagh though neither of us knew how we had arrived there instead of Newry! Good thing because it was more charming. The St. Patrick's Cathedral was lovely, especially the gardens. And Mary and I were the one of the few people there.

We then went on to Newry (still U.K.) and Mary dropped me off as she went on to see a friend nearby. The town was all traffic and lorries (trucks) and although parts were pretty, especially along the canal, I did not love it. It seemed very British, noisy, busy and unfriendly.
I walked along the canal and waited at a community centre for nearly an hour for Mary to pick me up but she was stuck in traffic. I watched a man train (or just exercise) his German Shepherd to race along the field alongside the cars, so maybe 35 mph! The dog loved it.
After a dinner of bread with bananas on it, we went to Carlingford in the Republic (so back to using Euros which I hadn't brought with me--you have to carry two purses when you live along the border, or, in my case, three since I have U.S. bills).
A charming town! Since it was about 8:00, most everything was closed but the medieval village was great to walk around.
