Paris on a warm sunny day
My table neighbors at Le Ronsard, opposite Sacre Coeur: Ricardo, Wendy and Susan. They are from Miami and Puerto Rico. Susan is living in Paris, working remotely.
Chardonnay and a great view of Sacre Coeur (and, like Ireland, it seems that everyone smokes)
Sacre Coeur. Quite a climb to the church itself.
The bedroom and the apartment I have through Home Exchange is cute but the owner/renter speaks about as much English as I speak French ("un peu"--Spanish keeps coming out of my mouth, not French). This has been a problem and using Google Translate (for the Uber driver, too) has been barely helpful.
Now that I know how to get into her building (I have had to get help from 3 residents, also it is very tricky how to close the door when I leave), with a code, not the key she gave me (she didn't explain, even in the manual in English, which she now has given me in Spanish, too, another misunderstanding!) I can go my own way with a minimum of communication between us. Rather a shame...and why didn't she make it clear that she doesn't speak English in her profile?
I have messaged Enrique, a Mexican friend of a friend who lives here, but so far no answer. Obviously I can't count on him to meet me and will likely be on my own. Naturally.
I had a very nice but very short time with Cousin Don & Gen in Dublin and a walk with their daughter, Angela, and her Golden doodle puppy and her friend, Linda.
When we left for the airport at 7:15 this morning there was heavy rain. And it was sunny here! I thought I might never get out of the Charles des Gaulle Airport; it seemed huge!
Last view of Waterford was this mural near the train station:
A blaa is a Waterford specialty and is just a very soft dinner roll. Spread with the great Irish butter, it is delicious! But on to baguettes!
