Tour and wanderings
Gizmo sat on the toilet for at least ten minutes. Nothing much happened.
This is the sunny southeast, or so said the tour guide! The very loud wind all night gave way to sun and then a downpour so hard I ducked into a crowded shopping centre.
But first I went to the Bishop's Palace which is part of the Viking Triangle. I took a tour and then the same woman, Fiona, gave us a walking tour of the historic sites.
Fiona was a better speaker than Jack.
This marriage changed Ireland's history. It established England's reign over Ireland.
After escaping from a downpour into the mall, I ate at the Greenville Hotel, cafeteria style.
Then I took myself on a walking tour of Quakers in Waterford. The brochure had 14 sites.
The very popular Jacob's biscuits (crackers) were a Quaker owned company. They have a lot of products.
Next I went in search of the Waterford Greenway that I had glimpsed from the bus to Dungarven. But there was a lot of construction and it was a little scary. I saw some kind of caravan housing and two kids asked me what I was looking for. I gave my doggie bag to their dog.
I told them I was American and the boy said he could tell from my backpack. I asked if he was from Ireland and he said no, he was from Waterford. 😄 Well, he was only about 5 or 6.
It was too late for tea, too late for another museum, so I just wandered near the bus route. I saw a lovely shopping area, more of the walks of the city, and some colorful houses.
Back at the house, more rain, and a hungry cat!
P.S. Oh, and small world that it is, I ran into the German street musician and her blind dog from Dingle today! She is on her way to France and then home next week.
