11 septiembre 1973
A sad day for the USA but a sad and bitter day for Chile and all of LatinAmerica, even the world, when in 1973 the CIA under Nixon with Kissinger's help, helped overthrow the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende. And there the bloodshed started and justice still has not been served.
The last known photo of Allende
Downstairs from the dentist is a homeopathic shop and I was able to buy two items for Rita who is off to a yoga retreat in the mountains of Ecuador soon. I also bought some drops for my diarrhea problem.
My dental appointment was okay. All she did was adjusted my bite from a filling sticking out and take impressions for three crowns. I don't know how I got the number wrong, thinking there were two!
I then went walking in Escazu, looking for lunch and an umbrella for the rain sure to come soon. Fancy stores but a noisy two lane road was not pleasant walking.
I found a nice health food store, a nice pharmacy, a few pet stores, and a pretty and quiet restaurant to have lunch. But Caffe Negroni "me encanta" and I want to try and eat there:
Then I made it to MasPorMenos (MasXMenos, owned by WalMart🙄) and found an umbrella and some yogurt but confounded 4 employees by my request for sauerkraut.
It was just starting to rain when I got out and had a nice Uber ride with a 35 year old man named Diego (he had never heard of Diego Rivera nor Frida). We talked about religion and meditation. He likes to read Eckhart Tolle. He had very nice teeth.
By the time I got back to Rita's it was pouring out! Thunder, too!
I finally found a local newspaper, La Nación, at MasXMenos and enjoyed seeing 3 comics, Mafalda by Quino and Baby Blues:

You touched on Largo Petalo del Mar here.
