Atenas, day 2
Today I met their friend and housecleaner, Anyela, who was interesting to talk to. She is gay but hasn't had too many problems with her family.
Then we went to a restaurant for breakfast. It is called La Casita del Cafè and overlooks the Central Valley. Not many people were there so we got our pick of seats. Despite my "mal estomago" I ordered cafe con leche.
Gorgeous heliconia or "parakeet flower" in front of Rosalie & Chris' house.
Then we went for a walk on a side street with good views, no sidewalk, lots of barking dogs, a "pulperia" (a grocery store which we couldn't see any evidence of besides the sign), and friendly people.
We stopped and chatted with a friend of hers, a Tica whose son is a librarian! And then got to her house. I communed with their dog, Sandy.
I had a lovely swim in their pool. There were dark clouds but no rain yet!
Later four American friends of theirs came over for drinks and we chatted about Costa Rica, living here, health care and cancer!
