Tortuguero
This morning I did not feel well and could barely eat any breakfast. I just had some fruit. Two other people had joined us the night before, a young Hungarian man and a young Swiss woman.
Simone from Switzerland in front. Nuno from Portugal second to left, Hungarian man on left
On the tourist van to the public bus we stopped and I bought a Covid test for about $20 at a pharmacy.
The bus took about 2 hours and then we got on another tourism van and then we got on a boat to take us to Miss Junie's hotel near the Tortuguero park. A Costa Rican woman sat next to me and kept poking me as she continually excavated the contents of her very big bag...make up, cream, etc. She wasn't friendly.
The boat was for transportation but we did see a lot of lizards, an iguana and heron.
We walked through town and most of the group disappeared in some restaurant so I ate alone. Or tried to, because I couldn't eat very much, feeling nauseous again.
Back in my room, the Covid test was negative so I'm not sure what is going on but I went in the pool with the three talkative men from my group. It's only been a day but I feel like the odd "man" out and might not get close to anyone. It seems like a long two weeks but everyone is nice, at least, and Daniel, the tour guide, is very responsive.
We also lost electricity for an hour or so due to a tree falling on wires.

I hope things get better on this tour! I hope you feel better. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThanks! Loro, the parrot, biting me has not helped but at least there's a doctor advising me.
DeleteYou might want to take some anti parasite medication, just in case, and I hope some of the trip is a private bus & not all public transportation (although it has a good place but not when you feel sick)
ReplyDeleteNo public buses anymore! I am now taking antibiotics for 7 days since I was bitten by a wild animal (a rescued parrot)!
