Day 3, very wet
Day 3. Back to Doune Castle, now open! Here's a brief video tour of the castle with Monty Python audio:

Then we went to Drovers Inn at Inverarnan where I had carrot coriander soup and tried not to look at the many poor animals everywhere (taxidermy). It opened in 1705 for herders (drovers) and is supposedly haunted.

Then the 10 minute ferry from Ardlui to Ardleish with a grouchy ferryman (₤£96 for all 8 of us both ways; he said, "Glad I'm not paying that!") and a very wet hike. When we got a fast flowing stream from all the recent rain we had to cross to get to a hut on a hill with a great view I didn't not to try and jump across like the others so I stayed and talked to Pauline. And then we went back to Ardlui Hotel by boat between heavy RAIN showers and some sun breaks! We had drinks at the hotel's bar at a nice round table. I had Malibu rum on the rocks (except the UK barmaid was confused by that phrase, "on the rocks").
Rainbow on the wayThis was one I got across
And the one I didn't attempt but there were quite a few others on this trail and some midges, too (not swarms but still annoying insects)
Alistair asleep, Gaelle laughing

I love the rainbow over the field!
